How Des Moines Window Desk works

Des Moines Window Desk is a free referral service for homeowners in the Des Moines metro. We are not a window company or a contractor, and we make no windows. When you send a request, we pass it to an independent local window installer that serves your area, and they contact you to look at the windows, measure, price the work and schedule it.

  1. Tell us what you need. Use the form or call us. A photo of the window helps.
  2. A local window installer calls you back. They set a time to look and measure. Ask the pro whether the estimate is free.
  3. You get the price in writing before work starts. The product line and the glass go on paper with the method and the warranty. Compare it with another quote. You decide.

How we make money

The installer pays us for the introduction. You never pay us anything. We don't install windows, we don't sell windows, and we don't set prices.

Who we refer you to

We work with installers registered as contractors with the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals, and Licensing. Iowa registers contractors rather than licensing them, and you can look up any registration yourself, which we suggest you do. What we ask of the installer

A written quote before any work starts that names the product line and the glass. It should also name the installation method and the warranty terms. When you sign at home, we expect the three-day cancellation notice Iowa law requires. If your experience falls short of that, tell us at (515) 827-7864.
